Mr. Manson was born in Ottawa and spent his childhood on
his family’s dairy farm in Ramsayville, Ontario. After graduating
from high school, Mr. Manson spent two years at the Eastern Ontario Institute
of Technology. He then went on to gain his teaching diploma from the Ottawa
Teachers’ College.
A committed life-long learner, he also completed several additional educational
programs, including the Real Estate licensing course and the Certified
Interconnect Designer certification course.
Mr. Manson’s diverse professional career began in 1965 at Bell
Northern as a lab technician. He then worked with the London Board of
Education as an elementary school teacher. In 1974, Mr. Manson entered
the field of mechanical drafting and printed circuit board layout, where
he works today as a senior CAD designer with Instantel Inc. in Kanata.
In 1968,
he married Catharine McGuire, an Ottawa-area high school teacher. They
have lived in Montague Township near Smiths Falls since 1971 and have
three children: Melissa, Gillian, and Matthew.
