A Reluctant Organist/Choir Director Course

for blessed beginners with fearful fingers and fumbling feet, who have been coerced or bribed into playing the organ in their church and who need some basic guidance in how to survive amid pulling stops and pushing pedals while keeping an eye on the rear-view mirror and thus avoiding approaching missiles hurled from the congregation!

Leader- Peter Shepherd

"Immoral, impossible, God only knows,

How tenors and basses, sopranos, altos,

At service on Sunday are rarely the same,

As those who on Wednesday to choir practice came."

At this workshop we were small in number( only 6) but mighty.  It was good to renew aquaintance with one of the registrants who had attended the RSCM Summer School in Brockville in 2002.

The facilities at Trinity St. Andrew's were marvelous. After the workshops, the registrants were invited to listen to the Ottawa Valley Festival Chorus along with their professional Valley Festival orchestra, practising for their concert, Mozart's "Grand Mass" in C Minor, which was being performed the next day in this church.
