-Warning decompression alert-

"MOVE! Get to the other ship!"

The 30 remaining crew grabbed whoever was injured and fireman carried them out the docking collar. A shockwave hit shaking the collar sending the technician and an officer to the floor. "Over here!" Yelled the technician tossing the second airmask to the officer. Helping the officer to his feet the Tech latched a connector onto the officer's uniform. "Run for it."

They made it half way down the connector before it started to shake again. Power and artificial gravity died and suddenly they were running uphill. The connector began to tilt toward vertical and the launch bay ahead started to tilt away. "hang onto the cable!"

The cable attaching them to the Second Chance snapped taut and pulled them up through the connector at the Chance started to lift. The opening of the connector grazed the officer's foot on the way up breaking bones. The strongest wind either of them had ever felt whipped at them like an ice storm.

Looking down the ground started to pull away faster by the second. In the docking bay the Chief Mechanic grabbed the tethered cable and yelled to others in the bay. "Give me a hand with this cable! Pull! Everyone together!" The wind was getting worse by the second. It felt like his skin was trying to rip itself from his body. As each second passed they seemed to get closer to the launch bay. Decompression must be affecting his mind.

-LAUNCH BAY DOORS CLOSING. STAND CLEAR-

Lifting open an emergency panel a tech hit the emergency stop on the doors, holding them open.

"I said pull! Put your back into it!"

The wind was starting to lessening now. He could see the blue containment field from the launch bay as the cable pulled him closer. This had to be a hallucination, decompression should be killing him right now. But sure enough he was pulled through the blue energy field and onto the deck. A moment later the Republic officer was pulled through as well.

All of the sounds seemed to have an echo to them. The one thing that he did hear clearly was a tech from his unit shout. "Closing Launch bay doors."

Then everything went black.
