Multicultural Fair . . .

Wasn’t it a blast? My, the band did sound nice.

I certainly loved the new tunes. Newfoundland will certainly enjoy this music.

How about that new member? Wasn’t he great? Boy he sure knows how to fit in. I think Leo, (I think that was his name) really enjoyed himself. He made so many little people want to dance and have fun. I guess that’s what it is all about. Isn’t it?

A big Thank You to Reg for the free food tickets. We appreciated all of the tickets that you gave us.It was great to see the popcorn machine making money for the band. Big thanks to Rolly, Paul and Clarence Taber assisting. It was nice to see all the Moms & Dads there too.

Variety Show . . .

I said in the April newsletter I would try and let you know how much we made at our 4th. Annual Variety Show. After expenses, we have made $1710.59. I really do feel we could have made more if we had not had the problem of selling the tickets the last couple of days before the show. Anyways, everyone did a good job.

Now here is a Deal !

Mrs. Dana Wren, operates the Frame House Store on Buell St. She has offered to have mounted on Hard Board, our new poster of our band members. This would be at a cost of $17.25. She has volunteered to do this at her cost.

This must be co-ordinated through your old friend Dave. He has the list of all of the members of the band. Dave must receive the cash from you before he can place the order. He also has a poster mounted that he had done by another company and it cost him $28., so there is quite a saving. This would be a very nice memento to have and cherish.

Unfortunately there may be one or two members who were not present when the picture was taken last fall. Check it out before you decide if you want one. This order must be completed with all money turned in by the end of May. If you haven’t turned your money in we will presume you are not interested. For those who are interested, see Dave or contact him right away. He can be reached at 498-4030 or e-mail

Important Meeting for All Members & Parents This will be at the Armouries on Sunday evening, 6:30 - 8:30 pm. May 28th. DO NOT MISS THIS MEETING. There is important information to be obtained about the trip. You cannot be properly informed about this trip to Newfoundland unless you are there. If you have any questions, this would be a good time to ask, as all of the committee members and chaperones will be there. This will also be a good time for parents to see the band poster that is mounted if they wish to obtain one. Make cheque out for $17.25 payable to Brockville Lions Steel Band. If you have cash make sure it is in an envelope with your name on it.

Air Plane Tickets . . . The air plane tickets to Newfoundland have been bought and paid for. Let’s make sure that we don’t waste a ticket because someone can’t go. Keep our fingers crossed. Is everyone getting excited?
