Schedule for Steel Band from June 29 to July 9, 2000.

June 29 , 2000

6:00 p.m. Band to be picked up at St. John’s Airport. Canada 3000 flight number CM313. Travel to Curtis House at Memorial University.

7:30 p.m. Unload bus. Assign rooms.

8:00 p.m. Supper - Pizza to be delivered.

11:30 p.m. Quiet time and to bed.

June 30, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up.

8:00 a.m Breakfast.

9:00 a.m. Unload trailer followed by a practice outdoors if weather permits.

11:00 a.m. Band to be picked up to travel to St. John’s City Hall.

12:00 Lunch with Canada Day Committee and Mayor of St. John’s, Andy Wells.

3:00 p.m. St. John’s Lions Club Chalet. Set-up for concert.

4:30 p.m. Concert.

6:30 p.m. BBQ and social hosted by St. John’s Lions Club.

9:00 p.m. Return to Cutis House.

11:30 p.m. Early morning tomorrow so better be in bed by now!

July 1, 2000

3:00 a.m. WAKE UP ! WAKE UP ! WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!

4:00 a.m. Truck and trailer to leave for Signal Hill.

4:00 a.m. Board bus for Signal Hill.

5:00 a.m. Arrive Signal Hill and setup for concert.

5:20 a.m. Concert. Will play for about 20 minutes until the MC signals Tyler to stop playing. Someone will then sing a Newfoundland song. The band will then be asked to play O’Canada (This has to happen just as the sun is rising). Presentations will be made and then the band may be asked to play for 10 -15 minutes. Pack up trailer.

7:00 a.m. Breakfast followed by tour of Signal Hill.

9:00 a.m. Bus tour of St.John’s and Cape Spear. (Trailer to go to Confederation Hill)

11:30 a.m. Confederation Hill. Lunch.( Drums will also have to be setup on stage at this time)

12:30 p.m. Concert.

3:00 p.m. Return to Curtis House for rest.

6:00 p.m. Leave for supper.

7:30 p.m. Return to Curtis House.

9:00 p.m. Leave for fireworks at Quidi Vidi Lake.

11:00 p.m. Return to Curtis House and GO TO BED!

July 2, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up , pretty please!

8:00 a.m. Band to be picked up at Curtis House to travel to Reid Community Centre, Mount Pearl. Breakfast hosted by Mount Pearl Lions Club.

10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tour organized by Mount Pearl Lions. Location to be announced. Return to Admiralty House Museum & Archives, Mount Pearl.

2:00 p.m. Concert.

3:30 p.m. Reid Community Centre for social time and supper.

6:00 p.m. Activity to be arranged by Mount Pearl Lions Club. Location to be announced.

9:00 p.m. Return to Curtis House.

11:30 p.m. Quiet time and to bed.

July 3, 2000

8:00 a.m. Wake up and breakfast.(Explore campus, go for walk, do laundry, etc..)

11:00 a.m. Band to be picked up at Curtis House to travel to O’Brien’s Whale & Bird Tour.

3:00 p.m. Return to Curtis House. Quiet time (Explore campus, go for walk, laundry, etc..)

6:30 p.m. Band to be picked up at Curtis House to travel to St. Pat’s Bowling Alley. Bowling and pizza.

9:00 p.m. Return to Curtis House. Quiet time.

11:30 p.m. Bedtime.

July 4, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up.

8:00 a.m Breakfast.

9:00 a.m. Band to be picked up at Cutis House to tour of Southern Shore ( The Irish Loop Drive and The Cape Shore).

12:00 p.m. Lunch at restaurant on the way.

5:00 p.m. Band to be dropped off at Avalon Mall. Supper at food court in mall.

8:00 p.m. Band to be picked up at Mall and dropped of at The Anglican Cathedral, Church Hill.

11:00 p.m. Band to be picked up at The Anglican Cathedral to return to Curtis House.

11:45 p.m. Quiet time, pack suitcases and to bed.

July 5, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up.

8:00 a.m. Breakfast and check out of rooms.

9:00 a.m. Band to be picked up at Curtis House to travel to Carbonear Lions Club via Route 60. Stops along the way (Brigus).

12:00 Lunch at restaurant along the way.

1:00 p.m. Arrive in Carbonear. Unload bus and trailer.

1:30 p.m. Swim at local pool.

5:00 p.m. Supper hosted by Carbonear Lions Club.

6:00 p.m. Clean-up and get ready for concert.

7:30 p.m. Concert.

9:00 p.m. Pack-up equipment. Relax.

11:30 p.m. Quiet time and to bed.

July 6, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up and breakfast.

8:30 a.m. Band to be picked up at Carbonear Lions Hall for tour of Carbonear Area.

12:30 p.m. Lunch.

1:00 p.m. Leave Carbonear for Bonavista. Stops along the way at sites of interest.

4:30 p.m. Arrive at O Happy Sight Hotel outside Bonavista to be escorted to Lions Hall.

5:30 p.m. Welcome reception Bonavista Lions Club. Greetings by dignitaries and local entertainment (Cape Shore Boys).

6:00 p.m. Supper.

7:30 p.m. Meet and greet social. Local entertainment.

9:00 p.m. Band to be picked up at Lions Hall to travel to Discovery Collegiate for evening.

11:30 p.m. Bedtime.

July 7, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up.

7:45 a.m. Bus to pick band up at Discovery Collegiate for transport to Lions Hall.

8:00 a.m. Breakfast.

9:00 a.m. Tour of Bonavista Area organized by Bonavista Lions Club.

1:00 p.m. Lunch, Bonavista Lions Club.

2:30 p.m. Travel to the "Matthew" for concert.

5:00 p.m. Return to Lions Hall for supper.

6:30 p.m. Return to Discovery Collegiate.

8:00 p.m. Concert at Discovery Collegiate.

9:30 p.m. Pack-up equipment.

11:30 p.m. Quiet time and to bed.

July 8, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up.

7:45 a.m. Band to be picked up at Discovery Collegiate to travel to Lions Hall.

8:00 a.m. Breakfast.

11:00 a.m. Band to leave for Trinity Loop.

12:00 p.m. Lunch at Trinity Loop.

1:00 p.m. Band to travel to Trinity.

2:00 p.m. Viewing of the Trinity Pageant - "The New Founde Land".

4:00 p.m. Leave Trinity for Clarenville for supper. Return to St.John’s, Cutis House.

9:00 p.m. Arrive at Curtis House. Quiet time and prepare for flight home.

11:30 p.m. Bedtime.

July 9, 2000

7:00 a.m. Wake up, breakfast and check out.

9:00 a.m. Band to be picked up at Curtis House to travel to St. John’s Airport.

11:40 a.m. Flight departs for Toronto. Flight #314.

1:30 p.m. Arrive Toronto.

2:30 p.m. Leave Toronto.

4:30 p.m. Arrive at Belleville. Supper at Denny’s.

5:30 p.m. Leave for Brockville.

7:30 p.m. We are home!!!!!
