Leo Brent Robillard's work has appeared in
various journals across Canada and abroad, including CV 2,
freefall (USA), The Fiddlehead, Grain,
Prairie Fire, Queen’s Quarterly, and Verandah
(Aus). His poetry has also been anthologized in four different
collections. He has won the George Johnston Poetry Prize, and more
recently he received the Cold Steel Crime and Mystery Award (2004) for his
novella, The Prodigal Son. His first
novel, Leaving Wyoming, was published to critical
acclaim by Turnstone Press in the fall of 2004. His second book, Houdini's
Shadow, is forthcoming in the fall of 2006. Robillard has also
co-written two comedies for the stage. They are Little Chicago (2001)
and ICE (2003).
By day, he teaches English
and creative writing to high school students, and facilitates writing workshops for adults. Currently, he resides
on Lake Eloida in southeastern Ontario with his wife, their two children,
and a Bethlehem of animals.
