ECUMENICAL GROUPS & EVENTS

 

- St. Paul's is a member of the local Ministerial Association which fosters interaction and cooperation among the various church denominations of the community.
 
- Seaway Ecumenical Fellowship Group in its eleventh year, meets the third Saturday for breakfast, special speakers  or  entertainment in St. Paul's auditorium.  Breakfast is a modest  $6.00.  Men and women welcome.  Contact person:  Graham Cudlipp - 613-925-0737 
- Men's Discussion Group meets the fourth Saturday of each months at Piccolo Restaurant on King St., Prescott, at 8:30 a.m.  This is an open   
invitation for all men in Prescott and area to come together for breakfast and casual discussion of current affairs and topics of relevance in their lives.  This group started up in 2009 at St. Paul's United Church and has grown in popularity and numbers which prompted the move to their present location.   Contact person:  John Vande Burgt, 613-025-1372.
 
- Prescott KidZ Choir with rehearsals at St. Paul's Sundays from 5:30 - 7:00. and two concerts at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, upwards of 50 children ages 4 to 15 participating.  Next concert will take place May 6, 2012.  See web site:  pkcmusicals.vpweb.ca

-  Senior Choir:  practice at 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays

- A special outdoor ecumenical church service is held at the Harbour each year to wind up Harbour Days.  This includes a Blessing of the Fleet ceremony and refreshments by the town Harbour Days Committee.  St. Paul's minister conducted this service in 2011.
 
- An Ecumenical Sunday Service marking Loyalist Days is held on the lawn at Fort Wellington.  St. Paul's minister conducted this service in 2011.
 
- Special Sunday Remembrance Services each November with Legion Colour Guard, are shared with the various churches.

COMMUNITY SERVICES, ACTIVITIES &  EVENTS AT ST. PAUL'S

 

- The Cupboard Shop is open at St. Paul on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until noon with gently used clothing, dishes, jewelry, antiques, small appliances, toys, etc.

 

- A popular Line dancing activity takes place Wednesday evenings from 5:45 - 7:00 p.m.  Men, women and children welcome.  Cost:  $2.00 per session.
- Annual Valentine Luncheon -  February 14, 2012 from 11:00 - 1:00 - $7.00.

 

- Spring Smorgasbord (first Tuesday in May)    Fall Smorgasbord (first Tuesday in November; sittings at 4:00, 5:00 & 6:00.  Contact:  Martha Sadler - 613-925-5629.

 

- Annual Daffodil Lunch at St. Paul's  by the Canadian  Cancer Society of Cardinal/Augusta/Prescott/Edwardsburg - March 31, 2012 from 11:30 - 1:30 - $7.00; 12 & under - $3.00

 

- St. Paul's is the summer rehearsal venue for the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival.  The 2012 Festival will take place from July 14 - 18 at the Sandra S. Lawn Harbour featuring "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Othello."
